Town of Avon, Colorado is Hiring a Bartender Near Avon, CO

The Town of Avon is accepting applications for Bartenders, with the Special Events Department!

The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, and prepare and serve beverages. The Bartender will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

This candidate is required to work a flexible schedule.

The Special Events summer season will run from June 12th - September 13th


Essential Functions:

  • Welcoming and listening to customers to determine beverage preferences, taking drink orders, and making recommendations as necessary.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Checking wristbands to ensure customers IDs have been checked and are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Taking inventory before and after events.
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to patrons, and balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning serving surfaces, and washing prep glassware, utensils, and equipment.

Qualifications

1. Holds current TIPS training certificate. 2. Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required. 3. Must meet state minimum age to serve alcohol; must be 18 years of age to pour and serve while being supervised by staff 21 years of age or older. 4. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 5. Positive, engaging personality, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and professional appearance. 6. Ability to demonstrate basic math and computer skills. 7. Strong task and time management abilities. 8. Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques 9. Must have high school diploma and be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Special Requirements

Interested candidates must submit application, resume, and list of three (3) references to jobs@avon.org. The Town reserves the right to suspend or extend posting deadline based on receipt of qualified candidates. A background check and reference checks will be required prior to employment.

Miscellaneous Information

Individual recreation pass and retirement plan are included. The Bartender position has been deemed non-exempt under FLSA overtime requirements. This is a seasonal position beginning in June and ending in September.
