Fleet Services Manager

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $89,340.00 - 109,442.00

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Directs and manages the Fleet Services Division, including supervision of all members of the fleet services team. Oversees the purchase, disposal, and maintenance of all (600 plus units) Town owned vehicles and equipment to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs. Provides administration of all policies and compliance related functions related to fuel management, sustainability, pool program, service agreements and town wide fleet policies. Works closely with all Town departments to identify vehicle and equipment needs and develop replacement plans, develops specifications and requirements.

This position reports to the Public Works Director.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS:

• Organizes, prioritizes and supervises work of the division engaged in fleet services maintenance and repair.
• Oversees all Fleet Services communications, including communication with all respective internal customers, vendors, and employees related to fleet services and in alignment with the Divisions Service Level Agreement.
• Analyzes operational, financial, and telemetric data regarding all facets of Fleet operations by utilizing Fleetio’s information management system.
• Administers and manages the vehicle/equipment replacement plan and provides information concerning replacement.
• Troubleshooting, problem solving and decision making on technical aspects of maintenance issues.
• Develops and implements applicable policies and procedures.
• Plans, organizes and directs quality, customer service and cost effectiveness performance standards.
• Prepares and reviews technical specifications for the bidding and procurement of vehicles and equipment; reviews final bids for all Town purchased vehicles and equipment; assigns vehicles and equipment according to need.
• Monitors, coordinates, and ensures vendors complete necessary repairs or replacement of parts as necessary under the warranty management program.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in automotive technology, business administration or vocational program, or related field, and extensive experience in program management and/or supervision; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Special Qualifications

• Possession of valid Class B North Carolina’s driver’s license.
• Master Technician – Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:

• Possession of valid Class A North Carolina’s driver’s license preferred or within 6 months of hire.
• Fleet Manager certification through NAFA preferred or within 6 months of hire.
