Tower Staffing is Hiring a Mechanical Assembly Technician II (FT) Near Fort Wayne, IN
Seeking mechanically inclined candidates to assemble screens and feeders, and their subassemblies. Must be comfortable with air, power, hand tools, and blueprints.
Position: Mechanical Assembly - 2nd shift and 3rd shift. MUST TRAIN ON 1st Shift.
Responsibilities:
- Filing and grinding of metal to clean parts or to produce a close fit between parts.
- Drills, taps, or reams holes.
- Aligns components, and bolts them together.
- Installs moving parts, such as shafts or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
- Aligns and meshes gears to assemble a system of gears.
- Installs mesh cloth, perforated plate, or urethane panels.
- Tests or assists in the testing operation of the completed product.
- Uses hoists and cranes to move or assemble subcomponents.
- Operates magnetic drills, grinders, reamers, and impacts as necessary.
- Responsible for the care and use of tools, and returns to crib when done.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs routinely, up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Must be proactive and a self-starter.
- Must have good attendance.
- Must work well with others.
- Must be able to problem-solve & troubleshoot in real-time.
- MUST be able to pass a drug screen.
Schedule:
- 2nd and 3rd shift availability must train on 2nd shift.
- 2 pm - 10 pm, 10 pm - 6 am Monday - Friday.
Pay:
- $18 - $20 per hour depending on experience and position.
- $2 shift bonus on the 2nd and 3rd after 90 days.
- Full benefits after 90 days.
