Tower Opportunities is Hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst Near Laurel, MD

$1000 Signing Bonus effective 1/20/2024

Note: All full-time positions include the option of $0 out-of-pocket premium cost for Employee Only PPO AND exceptionally low premiums for all other PPO coverage levels.

HOURS FOR POSITION: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. The BIA will also be responsible for presenting findings to the leadership team and others. This role will partner with other business units to provide self-service reporting solutions, as well as complete assigned projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  1. Designs, develops and maintains Power BI dashboard, reports and data models.
  2. Creates data visualizations to help business stakeholders understand key metrics and trends.
  3. Creates recurring and ad-hoc reports using data from our enterprise data warehouse and various systems of record.
  4. Works with stakeholders to gather requirements and creates data models that support their business needs.
  5. Collaborates with IT/InfoSec teams to ensure data integrity and security
  6. Develops advanced reports and visualizations using Power BI and Power Query
  7. Stays current with new Power BI features and best practices
  8. Assists senior analysts in identifying and solving day-to-day business problems through a multi-disciplinary approach that encompasses a multitude of areas, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, and business.
  9. Assists senior analyst(s) in evaluating and making recommendations for software and services offered by third party vendors.
  10. Performs related duties when assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in computer science, business intelligence or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI Experience with Azure Data Services is a plus
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (Power Pivot, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS) is a plus
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in writing DAX queries on the Power BI desktop
  • Strong proficiency with SQL (DDL, DML, & stored procedures)
  • Knowledge of and successful demonstrated experience with MS Office Products, i.e. Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Relational Database Software. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of databases (i.e. MSSQL, Oracle, Access).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in database management.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and statistical software.
  • Ability to enter data, sort, and extract information from database systems.
  • Ability to manipulate, query, and analyze large quantities of data and present it in simple, insightful, actionable summarized documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of financial institution systems, including core processing, job scheduling, and data sets.
  • Ability to create and modify word-processing and spreadsheet documents using formulas and data tools, including graphs.
  • Ability to create relevant and readable graphs, charts, and presentations
  • Ability to find and analyze data from outside sources, validate its accuracy, and draw relevant conclusions
  • Ability to create and organize reports that synthesize complex information.
  • Ability to create and effectively create and present relevant and readable graphs, charts, presentation materials, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to research, read, analyze and interpret financial reports, procedure manuals, business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to prepare technical information for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to write proposals, reports, and business correspondences. Ability to define problems, outline facts, and draw conclusions as well as identify cause-and-effect relationships and evaluate risk versus potential return.
  • Ability to develop solutions for problems with concrete and/or abstract variables.
  • Ability to take and follow instructions.
  • Ability to follow procedures to reach resolutions.
  • Ability to develop action plans and organize workload to accommodate competing deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete daily job assignments.

  • Has knowledge of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures and all regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act and OFAC. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work the hours needed which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.
