Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is a nonprofit agency that assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to be included members of the community. Since 1981, TMI has been working to achieve our mission to support people with developmental disabilities to live, work and take their rightful place in society. TMI works with individuals to achieve their lifelong goals; to live in their own homes in the community, to secure paid employment by working in real jobs for real pay and to maintain family unity or assure that all children are p...art of a caring family. We accomplish this by providing supports tailored to meet their individual needs. TMI looks forward to a time when all people, including those most vulnerable, will be naturally accepted and included in community life.
