We are currently seeking an energetic, friendly, and caring individual to join our team as the Home Health Medical Records and Billing Coordinator.
This is a part-time position with the protentional for full-time, depending on experience!
In this role, you will be supporting the Home Health supervisors, caregivers, nurses, therapists, and other personnel with their Billing and Coding for Medicare and Insurance.
The successful candidate must be familiar with the processing and filing of relevant Medical Records while strictly adhering to the state of Washington and Medicare compliance and HIPAA guidelines. Experience with Medical Billing and Coding is absolutely required.
The ideal candidate will:

• Have a high school diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
• Have medical record keeping experience or recent specific training/schooling required.
• Have Medicare experience (strongly preferred.) Familiarity with the changing Medicare billing codes and willingness to proactively keep up to date on the latest changes with the Healthcare Reform Act and changes to Medicare.
• Be computer literate and have good keyboard skills.
• Be outgoing, warm, friendly, and energetic personality. Ability to meet and greet the public, vendors, and staff of other agencies effectively, both in person and by phone.
• Have excellent written and verbal skills.
• Be highly organized, detail oriented and able to multi task as well as self-direct work activity. Time management and organization skills are

critical

• Respect the confidentiality of all client and staff information

and records.

• Know/learn medical terminology and skilled care documentation

requirements.
Basic Job Description:

• Manages the current medical record flow to include receiving, faxing,

filing, and maintaining all current and past clinical medical records according
to current Federal and Medicare guidelines.

• Maintains records in a timely manner for quick, easy, and accurate

retrieval.

• Requests referral medical record documentation as required for the branch

office.

• Makes copies of any material for the admit and field charts and distributes

updates to case manager.

• Coordinates paperwork flow appropriately with Client Care Coordinator.
• Provides timely and accurate filing for Home Health, Home Care, and

Outpatient Agencies, ensuring bills are submitted before deadlines to ensure
revenue stream and to meet deadlines for other departments and agencies.

• Assists with answering phones and greeting clients as needed in a

professional, customer service oriented manner

• Maintains and organizes all archival medical records, ensuring mandated time requirements are meant and documents are shredded according to State mandated record-keeping guidelines.
