WELDER/FABRICATOR

Bulldog Innovative Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Total Security Solutions, is looking for a qualified individual to join our team as an Welder/Fabricator. This is a full-time position based in our Fowlerville, MI headquarters and reports to the Production Team Lead.

As our Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for welding 18 gauge to ¾ inch steel, stainless and aluminum, in order to fabricate parts and materials for projects . This position is responsible for providing superior quality and service while maintaining the company’s high standards when interacting with customers, fellow employees and shop manager

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the welding department daily
• Cutting, welding, and fabricating with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum; from sheet to finished product
• Experience using up to .045 MIG welding wire, as well as 14/16 gauge cold-rolled mild steel and 18 gauge stainless steel.
• Experience using MIG and TIG welders on steel, stainless and aluminum
• Operating passivator, grinder, sheer and bandsaw
• Finishing metal including polishing, grinding and sanding
• Understand and interpret blueprints and spec drawings to create flawless components
• Works with a sense of urgency and delivers high quality results. The shop is a fast-paced work environment, so you will need to scale to the flow of work to be successful.
• Ability to lift 100lbs
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to complete tasks that may include bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching and lifting
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment- loud, exposure to temperature changes, dusty, etc.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in MIG/TIG welding
• Experience TIG welding aluminum or stainless preferred
• Experience in a custom fabrication shop preferred
• Initiative to learn new things and apply them to your trade
• Ability and handle heavy material
• Basic math skills and ability to read measurements
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented and able to focus on multiple tasks at one time
• Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new systems
