We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Cost Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing product costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting decision-making processes related to product pricing and profitability.
Key Responsibilities: Product Cost Analysis:
Analyze the cost components of our products, including materials, labor, overhead, and other associated expenses.
Identify factors influencing product costs and conduct cost breakdowns to understand cost drivers and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, and engineering, to gather cost-related data and insights.
Cost Modeling and Forecasting:
Develop and maintain cost models to estimate the production costs of new and existing products.
Conduct cost forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making, pricing strategies, and product lifecycle management.
Monitor actual costs against budgeted or projected costs and investigate variances to identify underlying causes.
Cost Optimization:
Identify opportunities to reduce product costs through process improvements, supplier negotiations, value engineering, and other cost-saving initiatives.
Evaluate the financial impact of proposed changes or investments on product costs and profitability.
Partner with stakeholders to implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare regular reports and presentations on product costs, cost-saving initiatives, and cost trends for management review.
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
Provide insights and support for strategic decision-making related to product development, pricing, and profitability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Years of experience in cost analysis, product costing, or related roles within a manufacturing or similar industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
Proficiency in financial modeling, cost estimation techniques, and Excel. Experience with ERP systems or cost analysis software is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present findings to stakeholders.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
