Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
We specialize in opening / building out new moderate and high complexity CLIA laboratories as well as providing managed services to existing labs. This role will serve as project manager for new lab builds and projects within the company.
Job Duties:
- Serve as lead for the project, overseeing big picture and following up with all parties to move the project towards completion.
- Planning both the schedule and the budget for the project. Set deadlines with involved parties so that client goals are met.
- Ensure quality of the project is maintained, especially to regulatory (CLIA / CAP / COLA) guidelines.
- Update both internal and external partners on the progress of the project, highlighting key deliverables and project final completion date.
- Host internal meetings to make sure progress is made on the project and timelines are being met.
- Assist with some of the project build, such as soliciting quotes from vendors, updating / creating customized SOPs / documents, building out of electronic systems such as LIS, purchasing / inventory systems.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a hard science, such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, clinical laboratory science or a degree in project management / business development.
Experience Requirements:
- Prior laboratory experience preferred, in the specialty of hematology, toxicology and molecular pathology.
- Experience with lab instrument installation and validation, building / validation Lab Information Systems (LIS), familiarity with lab quality management systems, CAP / CLIA / COLA guidelines.
- Prior project management experience and use of project management software.
- In lieu of scientific experience, a candidate with exceptional project management background will be considered.
