Total Fiber Recovery of Chesapeake (TFRC) is a joint venture between Oregon-based Total Fiber Recovery, a subsidiary of Bulk Handling Systems, and the Swedish company CellMark Inc. This new facility will annually produce over 200,000 tons of recycled pulp from mixed paper (MP) and cardboard (OCC). The facility is under construction with operations start expected in April 2024.

TFRC is seeking a Hostler Driver for the facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia.

This position uses a hostler semi-truck to perform the safe movement of trailers containing both pre- and post-processed paper pulp materials from the staging facility to the loading and unloading docks.

If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities…

• Ability to work the DuPont Schedule, which consists of rotating 12-hour shifts, typically working 14 days out of 28, generally with 2 weekends off per month
• Ability to attend occasional meetings on off days
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Class A CDL required
• Medical card required (DOT physical)
• Prior experience working in a processing/manufacturing environment a plus
• Forklift experience a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Willingness to work hard, learn new processes, and safely make production goals
• Display consistent positive behavior that supports the facility's goals and objectives

And are interested in these responsibilities…

• Being responsible for jockeying trailers to support the inbound and outbound operations
• Inputting trailer information into weight scale both inbound and out bound from staging yard
• Jockeying trailers to the warehouse doors and waste collection sites in the yard, observing and establishing a routine communicating with operators in the warehouse
• Proactively identifying trends and resolving problems with facility traffic flow
• Following all company safety and security procedures
• Filling out pre trip DOT inspection of truck daily
• Operating company computers to review and process product manifests with Operator Bs
• Operating general office equipment
• Overseeing day-to-day upkeep on hostler semi-truck
• Performing housekeeping to keep the facility clean and safety focused
• Being trained to use a safety "toolbox" of procedures, policies, PPE, safety observations, and additional training to work safely
• Participating in team meetings
• Participating in maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to all guidelines and protocols when on the facility floor
