Position Overview:

This role focuses on overseeing the entire process of managing the procurement of raw materials through to finished products from external suppliers. This includes orchestrating procurement activities from forecasting needs to ensuring timely deliveries, aiming to fulfill on-time shipments and meet customer promises while optimizing inventory levels. Additionally, the position involves monitoring and enhancing supplier relationships, alongside conducting thorough supplier evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organize, and manage purchase orders.
  • Engage in regular communication with vendors and suppliers to track deliveries.
  • Perform evaluations on suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Handle Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Actively engage in forecasting discussions to anticipate material needs.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization (e.g., manufacturing, finance, quality assurance) to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Conduct analyses and prepare reports to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), purchasing, expediting, or a similar field within materials management. APICS certification is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. Familiarity with Epicor is beneficial.
  • Competent in managing master planning, material processes, and systems; adept at updating production schedules and assessing purchasing requirements.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent written, verbal, and organizational capabilities.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and capable of working effectively across various departments within the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and consistently meet deadlines and obligations.
  • Efficient in prioritizing tasks, planning work activities, and managing time effectively.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field.
