They are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Inspector job in Sellerburg, IN .

Schedule:

  • On-site work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Availability for "on-call" duty for emergencies involving managed or hangared aircraft

A Day In The Life of a Quality Control Inspector

The position you are applying for ensures the highest quality standards are met in aircraft maintenance operations. You will work closely with technicians on the shop floor, inspect their work, and provide guidance on quality and technique. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot aircraft issues, and a track record of motivating teams to meet work timelines. You will also be responsible for managing tool tracking, performing final inspections, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Essential Duties of The Quality Control Inspector

  • Work hands-on with technicians on the shop floor, providing guidance and support.
  • Possess the ability and experience to work on all aircraft capabilities
  • Inspect the work of all technicians to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Review work orders and have technicians make necessary corrections before the final sign off
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail in all inspections and documentation
  • Generate accurate logbook entries for completed work
  • Coach technicians on quality and work technique improvement
  • Redirect work effort to prioritize top needs and ensure focus is maintained
  • Document current work status on aircraft and communicate it to different technicians
  • Respond positively and quickly to changing priorities throughout the day
  • Lead the daily 7:00am meeting to discuss priorities and objectives
  • Act as a liaison between the shop floor and the maintenance manager
  • Conduct final inspections on all work before panels are reinstalled on aircraft
  • Review panel cards for proper documentation and compliance
  • Troubleshoot aircraft issues and perform root cause analysis when necessary
  • Ensure all required inspection items are properly signed off
  • Perform tool tracking and manage the calibration program
  • Maintain a well-organized and efficient work environment

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience as a technician
  • A&P required
  • IA required
  • 5 years in a leadership role
  • Prior service center experience, preferably with manufacturer experience
  • Familiarity with jets, particularly Cessna, and piston aircraft such as Cirrus, Barron, Bonanza, and Piper
  • Proven track record of motivating teams and holding them accountable to work timelines
  • Must have own tools (tools are not company-provided)
