They are currently seeking an Avionics Department Manager in Brainerd, MN.

A Typical Day as an Avionics Department Manager:
This role offers an outstanding opportunity to build a rewarding career with an exceptional company. Reporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibility will involve troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining General and Corporate Aviation aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance and repairs on all aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including airborne navigation and communication systems, autopilot systems, weather radar, transponders, pitot-static systems, compass systems, instruments, and accessories.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.
Customer Interaction: Work directly with customers to provide avionics equipment options for their aircraft, preparing formal quotes for complete avionics package installations.
Scheduling and Training: Schedule the installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of aircraft avionics equipment for the avionics department, training apprentice and avionics technicians in proper installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Team Coordination: Prepare weekly work schedules for all apprentice and avionics technicians within the avionics department.
Self-sufficiency and Cleanliness: Perform all avionics functions independently at any time, maintaining a clean and organized work area while assisting with other assigned housekeeping duties.
Records Maintenance: Keep repair station records and documents up to date as required for the Avionics department.
Team Collaboration: Assist co-workers and other department personnel when necessary to perform job tasks and functions.
Candidate Qualifications:
- **Education and Experience**: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- **Avionics Expertise**: 5 years of experience in General Aviation avionics installation or related subjects (FCC License Preferred), with FAA A&P mechanic qualifications as a plus.
- **Blueprint Proficiency**: Ability to read and interpret blueprint schematics and coordinate work with technicians and other aircraft maintenance personnel.
- **Specialized Knowledge**: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of wire harness fabrication, pitot-static systems, RVSM systems testing, and repair.
- **Manufacturer Familiarity**: Previous experience with manufacturers such as Garmin, Honeywell (Bendix/King), L-3, Aspen, Avidyne, PS Engineering, JPI Instruments, and/or (S-Tec) is preferred.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Proficiency in reading and understanding maintenance manuals and wiring schematics, along with basic knowledge of general computer applications (e.g., Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
