Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced 2^nd shift welder to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center. The employee will be responsible for performing setup and all position welding on a diversified line of parts requiring close tolerances and irregular angles and shapes in accordance with code certification, alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements. The work includes all types of material such as steel, aluminum, stainless, bronzes, copper and stellite hard facing. The employee will be working from engineering drawings and job layouts as well as using a scale, tape measure, square, protractor, templates, and gauges to accurately measure and verify quality of work.

Essential Duties

• Plan and layout work from engineering drawings and prescribed work procedures for most efficient method to fabricate job.
• Layout and weld jigs and fixtures to engineering specifications and/or recognized procedures for weldment stability.
• Perform and maintain proper preheat temperatures during weld operations.
• Program and operate furnaces to preheat, stress relieve, and post weld heat treat material and parts.
• Execute dimensional layout on parts and in-process measurements according to engineering drawings and instruction.
• Support maintenance in general weld repair of equipment, facility, and structures.
• Weld stellite overlays and repairs on components.
• Perform specialty weld repairs of turbine blades, vanes, valve seats, casings, seals, and other components.

• Perform secondary functions like assembly work, material movement, Inspection as assigned by supervision to support critical projects.

• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

• Operate overhead cranes including rigging of lead in safe manner.
• Operate fork trucks.

Education and Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions.
• Must be certified in arc/gas and T.I.G. welding. 
• Knowledge of welding principles and techniques with a minimum of 3 years experience. 
• Must have experience with TIG Weld, Stick Weld, and Wire Weld processes.
• Must have experience operating overhead cranes and fork trucks. 
• Must be capable of using various measuring tools.
• Use formulas, blueprints, specifications, and tables. 

Preferred

• Technical Degree in welding

The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, and risk of shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
