Torch Technologies is Hiring a Remote Systems Algorithm Developer

Job Description:
  • Torch Technologies is currently seeking a passionate systems modeler and integrator that will analyze data and requirements to build and integrate physics-based and math-based models that will aid our government customers in understanding their complex missile systems.
  • The candidate will have experience in one or more systems in the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), preferably Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD)
  • The candidate will be part of a team performing concept of operations evaluation, requirements analysis, model development, simulation development and execution and analysis of output.
  • Primary duties will consist of identifying appropriate algorithms to satisfy GMD system functionality, development of said algorithms using python, and using scripting and automation to integrate models in an existing simulation framework.
    • Must have strong scripting skills and physics-based modeling skills.
    • Must be able to perform verification of algorithms, and to integrate algorithms in a complex system simulation.
    • Must be able to interpret system requirements and build corresponding functional algorithms.
    • Must be able to interpret data and analyze data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to team members
    • Must be able to work with management to prioritize business and information needs
    • Must be able to set and meet deadlines

Qualified candidates will work within a collaborative team environment composed of government and supporting contractor personnel. The candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing, and briefing preparation skills as well as the ability to clearly present work to government customers.

A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required in physics, mathematics, engineering, or other related technical field and 5 years’ experience in complex missile defense system analysis. This position requires a final DoD secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

Job Requirements:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience in physics-based modeling and algorithm development

Experience in model integration

Experience with data analytics and verification

Experience with scripting and process automation

Strong Coding skills in Python or MATLAB

Ability to work alone and collaboratively with team members

Positive attitude and self-motivated

Active DoD secret clearance required
