Torch Technologies is Hiring a Software Developer (White Sandy Beaches) Near Tyndall AFB, FL
Torch Technologies is seeking a creative, team-oriented robotics software developer to join a small team of technologists working with our customer on Florida’s Emerald Coast to establish a capability for designing, testing, and fielding air and ground robotics systems. Experience in robotics is NOT REQUIRED, but an eagerness to learn is. We are developing tele-operated and automated solutions for civil engineering problems including automated airfield damage and FOD assessment, explosive hazard mitigation, damage repair, and construction. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an effort to integrate existing robotics technologies and conduct research and development of new robotics solutions to solve a range of challenging and unusual problems ... while living on the Gulf of Mexico.
Job Requirements:- B.S. Degree in computer science, computer engineering or related scientific field and 3 years experience
- Experience in developing software for fielded hardware systems
The following are desired but NOT REQUIRED:
- M.S. Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related scientific field and 5-10 years experience
- Experience in development of software for sensing, automation, or robotics
- Proficiency in Robot Operating System (ROS2)
- Background in delivery and fielding of automation, robotics, or self-driving solutions
- Knowledge of the Army’s ground robotics Interoperability Profiles and Autonomous Ground Vehicles Reference Architecture
