Torch Technologies is Hiring an Environmental specialist Near Dothan, AL

Job Description

Torch is currently seeking to hire an Environmental Protection Specialist to support Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) G-4 and the AMCOM Combined Logistics Command (ACLC) Environmental Group at Fort Novosel, AL and locations under its Fleet Management Expansion (FMX) responsibility.

  • Assist in executing the monthly Environmental Quality Assurance Surveillance Program (QASP) for the Fort Novosel Aviation Maintenance Activities.
  • Utilize auditing skills including random sampling, inspections, and environmental compliance evaluations.
  • Monitor Contractor procedures and Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
  • Provide productive feedback for continual improvement of environmental practices.
  • Review and approve requests for new hazardous materials based on technical requirements.
  • Conduct process evaluations of aviation and missile weapon system processes.
  • Address environmental impacts of material selection and reductions of hazardous waste generation.
  • Identify environmental life-cycle improvements within aviation and missile weapon system processes.
  • Review and evaluate Federal, state, and Army regulatory actions.
  • Serve as a communication conduit between the Garrison Environmental office, AMCOM G-4, ACLC, and maintenance contractor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical / science discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with auditing, environmental management, and compliance.
  • Final security clearance required to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in the candidate being ineligible for the position.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with LEAN Six Sigma, ISO 14001, RCRA, NEPA, Aerospace NESHAP, SPCC, and wastewater requirements is a plus.
