Your Opportunity:
The Herff Jones Production team is looking for a Seasonal Production Associate to join our team in Indianapolis, IN.
This is a regular, Seasonal position with the possibility of converting to full-time at the end of the season based on performance, attendance, and position availability. Seasons vary between January through end of May.
Shift: Standard shift is Monday-Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm; Peak Season (March-May) overtime is mandatory and employees must be able to stay until 10:00pm. Saturday and Sundays may be required during peak.

As a member of the Production Team, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment printing high school and college announcements, diplomas, and diploma covers to help our customers celebrate some of their greatest achievements. While you’ll lean heavily on your technical abilities, your greatest asset will be your drive and commitment to quality and safety. What We Want You To Accomplish:
First 30 Days:

• Read detailed work orders to determine setup specifications and efficiently set up your assigned machine.
• Learn to operate a variety of machines (Offset Press, Windmill, Engraving and others) efficiently and safely to accurately produce world class print products (Diplomas, graduation announcements, etc.).

First 60 days:

• Initiate trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setup without supervision.

First 90 Days:

• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.

What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:

• Follow standard operating procedures, maintain a neat and organized work area.
• Perform routine adjustments safely during the press run and maintain quality throughout the production process.
• Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
• Follow and maintain safe manufacturing practices when working with all machinery.
• Maintain records of daily production, using paper and electronic forms (Microsoft Excel).
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting and involving the maintenance technicians if help is needed.
• Team player and do what it takes attitude when other duties are assigned based on business demand.

What You’ll Bring To The Table:

• High School or GED required.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus
• Proven ability (1 year or more preferred) exceling in a high production manufacturing environment which focuses on safety, quality control, and organization.
• Ability to learn new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually.
• Demonstrated success operating commercial printing equipment preferred.
• Multiple examples of assisting teammates and working across different departments for short on long periods.
• Previous success maintaining a strong attendance and on time record.

PHYSCIAL ACTIVITES:Daily activity includes but is not limited to:

• Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
• Reading, communication, simple math.
• Standing on a fatigue mat in a specific area throughout a 10 hour shift.
• Be able to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above average.
