WE ARE GROWING!!! Busy medical office looking to hire a full-time experienced Patient scheduler. This position is a Patient Scheduler / Medical Secretary assigned to a Physician. Experience in Ortho or Neuro environment preferred but not required.

The qualified candidate would need to have excellent time management skills.

Must be able to work under high stress and in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to pass a background check.

MUST HAVE EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE

The surgery scheduler is responsible for (but not limited to) scheduling/rescheduling procedures at the local hospitals or ambulatory centers; obtain necessary forms or consents for procedures; obtain authorization for scheduled procedures; notify patient of authorization status and any money due at the time of service; and communicate with the physician regarding the status of the procedure or any patient care issues.

*Greet patients in person or over the telephone and provide them with specific information regarding the facility's services.

*Take and record patient information and determine their need for consulting a specialist.

*Schedule appointments with doctors by determining empty slots on calendars.

*Inform patients about set appointments and provide them with information on the documents that they need to bring along.

*Schedule follow up appointments for patients when ordered by physicians.

*Obtain & maintain all necessary paperwork… EMR system, insurance information, PCP or imaging reports, etc. for processing of appointment.

*Obtain all necessary paperwork for clinical staff to review before patient appointment.

*Follow up calls or correspondence to patients when necessary.

*Scan documents into EMR.

*Distribute daily schedules for doctors and staff

*Ensure insurance information is accurate.

*Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient.

*Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the office

Must be able to pass background check, company paid benefits after probationary period, vacation and sick time, matched retirement plan. The hours are M-F 8am to 5pm. Please send a resume along with hourly wage requirement.
