Anant Enterprises, a leader in the Hospitality Real Estate Development and Management Industry, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and energetic Assistant General Manager for our Holiday Inn Express & Suites Topeka North location! As the Assistant General Manager, you serve as a key member of the organization, providing leadership focused on best-in-class operations, integrity, dedication, and ensuring exceptional guest services.

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in developing your staff into a successful, efficient, and resilient team focused on providing all guests with a positive and lasting experience of well-being, comfort, and conscientious hospitality.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate flexibility to the needs of the business, following and honoring company policies and values, and operating in accordance with the best-in-class standards.
  • Direct day-to-day activities, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognize good performance.
  • Educate, train and motivate hotel staff while ensuring they have the information, market data, tools, and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.
  • Recommend salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with hotel and/or company rules and policies.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.
  • Interact with guests and individuals outside the hotel, including, but not limited to, current and potential clients, owning company representatives, community leaders, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers, competitors, and other members of the local community.
  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by providing quality guest services and amenities.
  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and hotel assets in compliance with owner's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of hotel and brand in the local community. Drive team member involvement in community organizations, activities, and businesses.
  • Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotels carbon footprint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as the manager on duty.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail to spot errors in transactions, room bookings, etc., as well as safety issues or hazards around the hotel.
  • Proactive in problem-solving and in anticipating guest needs.
  • Possess excellent active listening and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Capable of efficient time management.
  • Possess sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of being resourceful, highly organized, and customer focused.

Education and Experience:

  • High school/GED diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel operations is preferred but not required. Will train the right person.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in a broad range of fields including hotel operations, financial, marketing, employee and guest relations, maintenance, front desk, and housekeeping standards.
