Job Summary: Plans, develops, and administers medical record systems for the facility in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, as well as professional standards of practice and Company and facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Organize, plan, and manage the Medical Records Department in accordance with established
policies and procedures, including electronic medical records.
Develop procedures to ensure records are properly completed, coded, signed, indexed, etc.
Collect, assemble, check, and file resident charts and records as required.
Prepares folders and maintains records of newly admitted residents and discharge residents.
Reviews medical records for completeness, assembles records into standard order, and files
records in designated areas according to applicable alphabetic and numeric filing system.
Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to appropriate personnel for correction.
Establish procedures to ensure charts/records are not removed from the designated area except
as authorized.
Collect and assemble/compile records for committee review as required, and prepare reports as
directed.
Organizes discharge and Medicare record charts.
Performs monthly thinning and filing of medical charts
Qualifications & Educations:
Associates degree in Medical Records Technology preferred. Credentials as a Registered Health
Information Technologist; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 3 years medical records experience and 2 years supervisory experience. Must possess a high degree of professionalism and have demonstrated ability to interact positively with clients, patients, customers, staff, and management. Must have the ability to problem-solve, along with exceptional communication skills.
