Mainline Excavator Operator

Our normal scope of work includes; site clearing, mass earth moving, site work, building excavation, basement excavation, and site utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer). Although most of our projects are commercial, we also do some residential.

Essential Job Functions:

Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Able to skillfully operate an excavator (dozer and skid steer experience are a plus)
• Able to operate excavator in tight spaces and working closely with pipelayer
• Be able to read, interpret, and execute plans and drawings for utilities and grading
• Operate TopCon GPS System or have the ability to learn this system
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with crew members
• Perform manual labor occasionally (may be required to lift in excess of 50 pounds)
• Grease equipment and perform fluid level checks
• Recognize/ Identify various soil classifications
• Willingness to work with Grading crew within company as needed

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:

• 2 years heavy equipment experience (with an emphasis on utility excavation/installation)
• Experience working with a grade laser
• Intermediate computer knowledge
• High level of self-motivation
• Attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment
• Individual must be flexible, dependable, and effectively communicate with the team
