Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop product assortment and merchandise point of view, ensuring that the collection is compelling, commercially viable, and supports overall business objectives.
• Ensure timely delivery of the merchandise through consistent communication, follow-up with the vendor, and planning.
• In collaboration with planning, drive seasonal strategies and financial plans; ensure the success of the category by meeting sales, gross margin, and inventory goals.
• Collect, review, and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy for strategic decisions.
• Analyze class and vendor performance, identifying product opportunities, trends, and offerings that will impact the business and provide results.
• Ensure proper receipt flow by monitoring the receipt of goods and tracking orders.
• Optimize buying by store in order to maximize opportunities by market and follow up with appropriate allocation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have strong retail math skills.
• Analyze a problem skillfully, formulate a logical rationale for the decision and take action.
• High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
• Strong presentation, listening, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
• 3-4 years of buying experience required; preferably in a luxury, retail environment.
