About the Team

This role is part of our World App team, which since its launch in July 2023, has grown to 2 million monthly active users globally and is on track to become the largest crypto wallet in the world. The app enables users to obtain their unique Proof of Personhood through World ID, claim Worldcoin Grants in eligible countries, and send money globally for free. We are a lean and mission-driven team.

About the Opportunity

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will significantly impact all features of World App. This role represents the top 2% of Engineers at Worldcoin.

• Oversee all aspects of the architecture for World App backend and strive to simplify our developer experience.
• Build and ship mission-critical products across different World App product teams. You will be in the trenches contributing code to the App.
• Function as key strategic leader for the engineering organization as a whole. You will drive best practices and help build a world-class culture for our team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization, including Marketing, Operations, Risk, Data Science, and other Engineering organizations within the company.

About You

• Hands-on software engineering leader with a proven track record of building backend systems for top consumer mobile products with millions of daily active users.
• Self-driven with the ability to set the strategic direction in a highly ambiguous environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to influence others in relation to a large range of technical and business decisions.
• Confident leader with a strong bias for action. Willing to take risks and make significant bets when needed.
• Experience with Typescript and/or Rust is preferred.
• Experience with the AWS stack is preferred.
• Curious and passionate about programmable blockchains and their role in the future of finance, privacy, and digital identity.

Pay transparency statement (for CA and NY based roles):

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $261,000 - $300,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
