Description

Tony's Coffees & Teas, Inc. is looking for a weekday Production Supervisor. This position is Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm. 

The Production Supervisor oversees the production line and operations in the facility to ensure quality of product and delivery to distribution. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of production associates and work closely with other departments including roasting, distribution and maintenance. The ideal candidate for this position champions policies and procedures, leads by example and motivates the team through positive reinforcement and can-do attitude. 

This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, with a positive outlook, through practice and work habit, a desire to follow all policies and procedures in the production department to develop and maintain a safe, efficient, high quality, low waste workplace and maximize the development of the personnel they lead.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accomplish tasks through thoughtful delegation to others in the team.
  • Train, coach and enforce all company safety policies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential / sensitive information.
  • Self-confident, self-motivated professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written) with staff, and internal / external clients.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgement and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and / or options.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Create and standardize production SOPs.
  • Train and coach team to follow and maintain production SOPs.
  • Responsible for maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships, addressing, and managing absenteeism and employee performance.
  • Responsible for teaching safe work practices, good manufacturing processes, company standards, good housekeeping procedures and seeing that they are adhered to.
  • Recommends changes or improvement in methods, equipment, handling, or production lay-out.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that there is an open line of communication to overcome issues.
  • Assist the Production Manager in writing work orders including the use of UPC printers.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all packaging stations and grinders including calibration, troubleshooting, and operation.
  • Actively engage in training new employees.
  • Work closely with the Roasting Department to create daily roast schedules.
  • Assist in safely and accurately loading and unloading freight products.
  • Assist Production Manager in weekly and monthly inventory count.
  • Track inventory supply levels.
  • Oversee proper opening/closing of warehouse procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, especially when under stressful situations.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Excel and Word.
  • Commitment to continuous learning.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Carry or lift to 60 lbs.
  • Go up and down ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Able to drive a forklift (training will be available)
