Tonkin Parts Center, the largest automotive original equipment parts warehouse in the U.S., is actively seeking out Warehouse Associates to join our Day Shift team! We are conveniently located in Portland just 5 minutes across the river from Vancouver, WA!

Our Warehouse Associates work hard to help us support our nearly 4,000 customers across the Pacific Northwest! The ideal candidate is reliable, with a solid work ethic and strong attention to detail, an interest in the automotive world, and the desire to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.

A Day in the Life of a Claims Department Team Member

When our customers return a part to us, for whatever reason (damaged, job canceled, wrong part, not needed etc.), employees must inspect the part to determine if it is damaged, or if the customer used or worked on it, or, if it is in like-new shape, can it be put back in inventory and resold. Next, you would process the credit for the customer in our computer system, which you would be trained on. This job will be physically demanding due to the constant pushing and pulling of parts and inspecting panels, doors, and hoods at times. Attention to detail is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspecting parts with good judgement
• Issuing credits to customers for returned parts
• Filing claims on damaged parts
• Following manufactures guidelines
• Other tasks in the warehouse, as well as potential cross-training in the Claims\Credits department, and other departments in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Can lift up to 75lbs safely, without assistance
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
• Comfortable with computers and technology
• Prior parts experience preferred but not necessary

Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check.
