Tonkawa Indian Casino West is Hiring a Payroll Administrator Near Tonkawa, OK

Overview

Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and ensures the company payroll policies are in accordance with the government regulations. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all payroll accounting books and records in compliance with established guidelines of casino policies and procedures.
  • Oversees all administrative activities related to payroll, processing payroll biweekly, direct deposits, and any related reporting that encompasses the function.
  • Gathers time records from employees and calculating hours worked and pay received for each employee accurately via the time keeping system.
  • Ensures that time records are accurate and that any inconsistencies or errors are resolved.
  • Provides analysis of statistical information for monitoring employees of the Casino operations.
  • Transmit payments to employees via direct deposit in a timely and accurate manner biweekly. May process off-cycle payments as needed.
  • Answers any questions that employees might have about paychecks and works to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Processes and maintains records of regular deductions from employee payments. This includes garnishments, employee charges, healthcare and other deductions.
  • Documents all fringe benefit costs.
  • Ensures tax and IRS filings are processed in accordance with local and federal law.
  • Prepares the tax, garnishment and gaming fee checks for payment.
  • Ensures that there is proper supporting documentation for any and all employee changes.
  • Works in conjunction with and supports the human resources department with payroll changes for employees.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Assists the other Accounting staff with any general ledger or accounting procedures as needed.
  • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Must have experience or education in computerized accounting systems, which includes payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivables.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize as well as remain highly organized.
  • Must be detail-oriented, quantitative thinker who is adept at noticing errors and spends a lot of time completing calculations.
