Tompkins Community Bank is Hiring a Client Manager II (Greater Philadelphia Area) Near Blue Bell, PA

Overview:

The Client Manager II will participate in a cross-functional team to service a group of assigned employee benefits clients. As a key member of the benefits team, the Client Manager II is responsible for evaluating, developing and implementing clients customized benefits consulting service plan. Regularly manage account on all employee benefit plans associated with the client. Serve as day-to-day client contact by providing prompt, professional, courteous service and ensures effective communication between clients, producers and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of duties, including the following:

  • Analyze plan designs, administration and procedural or system changes for benefit plans while making appropriate client recommendations
  • Review insurance contracts, amendments and other documents to ensure compliance and alignment with client intent.
  • Interpret plan documents to answer client questions.
  • Drive the Request for Proposal (RFP) process including marketing, carrier negotiations, vendor analysis and presentation of executive summary.
  • Guide client through Renewal process including decision timeframes, contribution modeling, testing requirements, open enrollment strategy and implementation of new or replacement benefit plans.
  • Present at Open Enrollment meetings and ensure that employee communications are consistent with clients open enrollment strategy.
  • Manage tasks and deliverables for clients while keeping team focused on required tasks and deadlines.
  • Accountable for client satisfaction and retention.
  • Documenting client interactions and plan information according to Agency procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and correct day-to-day client service issues, including changes in coverage as requested/required by the client or carriers.
  • Maintain awareness of legal developments and/or changes with regulations related to insurance carriers and Federal and State laws affecting clients, policies and procedures to insure compliant administration of benefit programs.
  • Effectively communicate information to our clients and benefits teams.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with carriers and clients.
  • Attend regularly-scheduled client meetings with Client Consultant.
  • Implement new benefits programs for clients.
  • Conduct employer and employee educational and communication meetings.
  • Connect client with appropriate Tompkins resources and services as appropriate.
  • Identify new line of coverage opportunities on existing client book of business.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness of the companys compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates and interfaces with other divisions and management personnel as part of the management team in order to integrate objectives and activities.
  • Provides periodic reports to managers, committees, or individuals as required throughout the company.
Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma is required. A Bachelors Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Current Life & Health Insurance license in assigned states is required as needed. GBA or CEBS designation preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in related positions including managing client accounts in an employee benefits environment is required.
  • Possess superior communication skills and knowledge of employee benefits issues necessary to effectively communicate with clients, insurance carriers and prospects concerning employee benefit lines of coverage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Strong Excel skills are required, basic working knowledge of Power Point preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, responsive and self-motivated, works independently as well as part of a team. Follows direction, able to effectively prioritize work, successfully manage multiple projects and priorities proactively follow up and meet deadlines.
  • Must possess adequate presentation and platform skills, effective project planning skills. Demonstrated ability to interact well in a team environment to insure delivery of exquisite customer service to clients. Problem solving skills; must possess excellent client service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret insurance contracts and terminology, data, renewal proposals and claim utilization reports.
  • A valid drivers license and access to an automobile for business purposes is required.
