Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: 

• Be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must check all paperwork for accuracy
• Must be detail oriented and well organized
• Maintain Time Sheet hours and following applicable state and federal regulations
• Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Secure cargo for transportation, using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords and ratchet
• Turn in proper documentation to its designated office daily
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles
• Maintain a clean environment in the inside and outside of the truck
• Be able to perform pre trip and post trip inspections of vehicles, trailers and equipment
• Must be able to work nights and weekends on-call
• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Answer phone calls from dispatch
• Wear proper PPE and FR uniforms
• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is a must!
  
  • (Tanker with Hazmat is a plus, But is not a must.)
• Must be able to pass background check, , and pass a drug screen
• Effective and professional communication skills

• Professional appearance
• Read bill of lading to determine assignment details
• Answer phone calls from dispatch
• Possess Excellent time management skills
• Must be able to communicate with customers for delivery
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Ability to maintain professional and cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
