Toledo Center for Eating Disorders is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Sylvania, OH

Set in a tranquil setting in a historic suburb of Toledo, Ohio, our facility was designed to provide a tranquil and safe alternative to hospital or hospital-based programs. Our mission is to provide specialized treatment for children, teens, and adults struggling with eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and compulsive exercise disorder.


Position Summary

Maintain the buildings and grounds of the Toledo Center for Eating Disorders, directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The facilities manager will oversee groundskeepers, maintenance workers, and custodial staff. Aids staff and clients as necessary.

Position Responsibilities


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Toledo Center buildings, grounds, equipment and furniture routinely to determine necessity of repairs, maintenance or new purchase.
  • Perform, manage, and oversee repairs, maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping and improvement of Toledo Center buildings and owned or leased properties and vehicles.
  • Investigate building, property and vehicle complaints and resolve problems.
  • Maintain safety standards in Toledo Center buildings and owned or leased properties and vehicles.
  • Accountable for services such as cleaning, security and parking, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work and live.
  • Notify utility or service departments regarding utilities or other services.
  • Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting and plumbing repairs.
  • Clears snow from entrances and walkways.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform the duties of the Toledo Center’s Health and Safety Officer.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and distribute records of sales, rental, maintenance, and other costs to Toledo Center’s Executive Director.
  • Determine and purchase, as necessary, all cleaning products, basic supplies and other items for Toledo Center’s owned and leased buildings and properties.
  • Maintain inventory of all Toledo Center’s owned and leased buildings and properties.
  • Monitor and control resources and oversee the spending of money.
  • Aids officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
  • Checks all buildings and properties at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements


Education and Experience:

  • Position requires a high school diploma or GED, and 1 years of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors.
  • Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies – may be very quiet to moderate.
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building facilities as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
  • Ability to move 25 pounds

Other Requirements

  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for the last two years
  • Position requires incumbent to have First Aid/CPR certification

  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow
