Payroll Specialist
Location: San Jose, CAType: Temporary to Permanent (T-P)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Start Date: As Soon As Possible (ASAP)
About the Position:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processing, handling employee expense claims, and contributing to various accounting tasks with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and correct payments.
Handle employee expense claims, including per-diem and allowances, with meticulous attention to detail.
Support new employee onboarding by providing assistance with benefits enrollment and other related activities.
Calculate and process union dues and maintain records for all transactions.
Manage certified payrolls in compliance with government regulations and company policies.
Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls and addressing payroll-related inquiries.
Maintain organized filing systems for all payroll documents and confidential employee information.
Process incoming and outgoing mail and fax communications related to the payroll department.
Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent time management skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Paychex Flex, Adobe, and other payroll processing software.
Previous experience in union payroll processing is highly desirable.
