The Todd County Solid Waste Department has an opening for a temporary general labor position located at the Browerville Transfer Station. This position is scheduled for the summer season. 

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the public with disposal of garbage, demolition, household hazardous waste and recycling products in a safe and efficient manner.

• Assist in sorting recycle products.
• General housekeeping duties including facility grounds.
• Operating skid steer to supply assembly line with recycling.
• Operating fork lift to prepare bales for transport.
• Assist in baling operations of recycle products.
• Assist customers with disposal of waste materials.

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Must be at least age 18 or older
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating a skid steer
• Experience operating a fork lift

Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
