Summary
The Senior Translations Project Coordinator is a member of the Translations department at Toastmasters International and leads all translations efforts for the organization, including all educational and marketing materials. This individual works collaboratively with translation vendors, freelancers, and volunteer teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of completed translation projects. In addition, they manage two distinct volunteer programs, the Toastmasters-specific glossary, and the translation style guide, and they assist with desktop publishing.
Description
Develop timelines, track, and report on the status of translation projects
Assist in developing annual budgets, and manage expenses throughout the year
Review and proofread translations from the translation vendors, freelancers, and volunteers
Annotate, prepare, and organize source content for submission to translation vendors, freelancers, and volunteers
Ensure translated products are edited to reflect updates in English materials
Conduct quality assurance of translations
Test e-learning courses, report bugs, and re-test fixes
Contribute to the long-term development of localization best practices and business processes
Identify process improvement opportunities
Assess member feedback about existing translations
Contribute to the enhancement of Toastmasters-specific glossaries and style guides
Contribute to the two volunteer translation programs (the Translation Reviewers Program and the District Translation Program) by recruiting, coordinating, and maintaining consistent use of terminology
Support desktop publishing (e.g., layout of translated materials)
Knowledge and Skills
Proficient with translation management systems, CAT tools (i.e., XTM), and glossary development
Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills in English
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Cross-cultural communication experience is preferred
Some project management skills are preferred
Knowledge of layout tools, InDesign, Photoshop and HTML is a plus
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in related subject matter or equivalent professional experience
Translation/localization experience
Proficient with editing tools, including Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office
Compliance with all company policies, including but not limited to the company’s COVID-19 vaccination policy and testing and face-covering policy, is a condition of employment. You must be able to connect to a reliable internet service to perform all job duties when working from home. Work authorization is required, and sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
This position pays $70,500.04 annually, or $2,711.53 bi-weekly. This position is exempt.
This is a hybrid role, with some days remote and some on-site, typically 2 per week, with expected in-office days of Tuesday and Wednesday at 9127 S. Jamaica St. Englewood, CO 80112. When working in the office, we follow CDC guidelines.
