We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Master Data Management Engineer to join our diverse team. As the Principal MDM Engineer, you will play a strategic role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our Master Data Management (MDM) solutions. You will lead initiatives to centralize, standardize, and govern critical data assets, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and reliability across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of enterprise wide MDM solutions, using industry best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate MDM solutions with other enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, and data warehouses.
  • Lead all aspects of the implementation and configuration of MDM platforms, ensuring alignment with business requirements and data governance policies.
  • Define and maintain data models, hierarchies, and taxonomies to support master data domains and business processes.
  • Engage with business partners to understand data requirements, provide technical mentorship, and drive alignment between MDM initiatives and business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MDM engineers, guiding them in the implementation of MDM solutions and standard processes.
  • Continuously supervise and optimize MDM performance, scalability, and reliability to meet evolving business needs.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive documentation, standards, and training materials related to MDM solutions and processes.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and workflows to maintain the quality and integrity of master data.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related subject area or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Master's/Advanced Degree Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or related technical field and/or MBA or equivalent experience (Preferred)

Work Experience:

Required:

  • 7 plus years Related experience
  • 5 plus years developing cloud solutions using data services
  • Experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (e.g., EMR, Aurora, Redshift, Glue, S3, SWF, Quicksight etc.)
  • Leading/mentoring senior engineers and/or managers

Preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years of leading data engineering teams
  • Experience with the Software development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methods
  • 7 plus years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing Master Data Management solutions. ​​
  • Expertise in MDM platforms such as Informatica MDM, Ataccama MDM, or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, and data quality management concepts and tools.

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and standard processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage global projects or programs including work prioritization, planning, and coordination (Required)
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively connect with both business and technical teams (Preferred)
  • Ability to work multi-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal partners (Preferred)
  • Passionate about learning new technologies (Preferred)

Washington Pay Range : $163,300.00 - $220,900.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
