We are a leader in technology, developing cutting-edge sensor, and automation control systems that help to reduce costs and increase safety in our clients' operations. Our operations are rapidly expanding to include technology and automation in the Oil industry. The company began in 2008, and initially planned to work with original equipment manufacturers. However, our business changed its paradigm to focus on end users in the Oil & Gas Industry.

TMG Operating LLC, located in Carmel, Indiana, has businesses in Automation and the Oil & Gas industries.

We are currently seeking a dynamic candidate for the role of Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing support to our 5 companies. The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting for multiple companies in a growing company with emphasis in Accounts Payable. If you have excellent communication skills, enjoy solving puzzles, ability to multi-task, find solutions when there is not a clear answer, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and thrive in a start-up environment, this is the perfect position for you! This hands-on position is perfect for someone who wants to develop this role by taking ownership, supporting, and driving best practices for the companies.

This position will be based in Carmel, Indiana. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive compensation package which includes base plus medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO to qualifying employees. For those working out of our headquarters, we have a business casual working environment.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Focus to start in Accounts Payable but must have accounts receivable experience too.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the corporate tax return.
  • As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft applications, especially Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Five or more years of accounting experience required.
  • Management and supervisory skills and experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with multiple companies
  • A/P experience.
  • Bill.com experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
