Position Summary:

TM Associates is seeking a Resident Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Resident Service Department staff. This position is hybrid, in which 50% of the time will be spent working remotely, and the remaining 50% of their time will consist of directly supporting Resident Service Department staff in-person at HUD-assisted properties located in Staunton and Waynesboro, VA, and Jefferson County, WV. The HUD-assisted properties are located off U.S. Hwy 81.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct oversight and supervision to staff and interns.
  • Provide support, motivation, training, and professional development planning for staff.
  • Directly assist staff in on-site outreach efforts to increase targeted participation benchmarks.
  • Lead staff in administering annual needs and satisfaction surveys to determine the direction of annual programs and activities for residents.
  • Ensure measurable goals and objectives of on-site programs and activities are tracked and measured through "Theory of Change," also known as a Logic Model.
  • Support staff to work closely with other departments, most notably Property Management, Compliance, Asset Management, and Maintenance.
  • Forge and maintain partnerships with non-profits, hospitals, government entities, business, and universities.
  • Assist leadership in securing and maintaining grants, sponsorship, and private funding to support programming.
  • Routinely study local and national best practices of physical, mental, emotional, cultural, social, and service program activities for all age groups served.
  • Attend appropriate community meetings and network with key community stakeholders to increase resource access and support department goals.
  • Attend training and professional development opportunities.
  • Responsible for effective staff performance management and evaluations.
  • Assist in managing staff's internal/external documentation reports to ensure compliance.
  • Perform on-site staff functions when coverage is required.
  • Assist leadership with additional tasks as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Human Services with 4 years of experience as a direct supervisor in a private or non-profit social service organization OR 7 years equivalent work experience as a direct supervisor in a private or non-profit social service organization; knowledgeable of referral process; and able to work with diverse populations.

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work/Human Services with 3 years of experience as a direct supervisor in a private or non-profit social service organization; knowledge of referral process and working knowledge of local services; and ability to work with diverse populations.

Essential Functions: Ability to sit and stand for a minimum of two (2) hours; ability to climb stairs; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
