QUALITY INSPECTOR
This position is a full-spectrum interconnect manufacturer. It is a great place to work where ability and diligence are recognized and rewarded. Functions
· Check dimensions against the controlling specification or drawing including visual inspection, gage checks, shippers, traceability, packing and other items.
· Reviews job cards (travelers) for completion, job card revisions, in-process inspection marks, print revisions, etc.
· Rejects parts following specific review and documentation requirements.
· Ensures current inspection specifications are in use. Contacts appropriate party (e.g., engineering, designer, product manager, etc) for clarification.
· Roams production floor whenever possible or as assigned to provide assistance to operators, assemblers and other Glenair production personnel with any issues they may have with product quality.
· Interfaces with other Glenair employees including those in production, engineering, and operations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
· MS Office (Word, Excel) skills.
· Working knowledge of blueprint related skills including tolerances, plating allowances, revisions and revision control, and threading practices.
· Experience with inspection tools including thread gages, block and gage pins, comparator, drop gages, micrometers, and Vernier calipers.
· Required documentation skills include Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection, purchasing documentation, rejection record/RMA-Return practices, lot traceability review, and the ability to understand a job card.
Work Experience: Minimum of three years experience of working in a manufacturing environment in either the production or inspection areas.
