The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD has an opening for a qualified candidate for a school van driver beginning with the 2024/2025 school year. The position will include transporting students with special needs using company vehicles to and from the school in the mornings and afternoons during the school year. Primary driving hours are 6:30 AM - 8 AM and 2:30 PM to 5 PM. This position can be part-time or additional hours can be provided for a full-time position. CDL license NOT required. EOE
Experience and Skills:

Requirements for the Driver:

• Must have a valid driving license with an exceptional driving record (standard vehicle license)
• Must have good interpersonal skills, be dedicated and punctual
• Must pass a physical test
• Prior driving experience preferred
• Experience with students with learning disabilities, Autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or other health impairment preferred
• Must be reliable, maintain a professional attitude, and be team oriented
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

As a condition of employment, all employees are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. New hires must receive any additional vaccine doses in the appropriate timeframes to be considered fully vaccinated and submit weekly test results until they are fully vaccinated. Requests for religious or medical exemptions will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
