The Katherine Thomas School is a private special education school that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities and moderate to high functioning autism. This is a full-time position for the 2022/2023 school year working with students in middle school. Hours are 8:30am - 4:15pm

Responsibilities of the math teacher include:

• Develop instruction following the Maryland State Curriculum providing necessary accommodation to meet individual, group, and program needs
• Teach students to utilize assistive technology
• Write and implement IEPs
• Create a supportive learning environment
• Create partnerships with parents and the KTS community
• Be an expert in differentiating grade level curriculum so that students in these classes can access the curriculum

Required Experience:

Required Experience for the Math Teacher:

• Bachelors Degree in Special Education or content area
• Maryland Special Education Teaching Certificate Eligibility (required)
• Experience working with children on the spectrum in a school environment is preferred

As a condition of employment, all new hires are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
