Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for producing high-quality products. As an Assembly Technician I, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting components to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Assembly: Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings or other applicable materials, work instructions, and quality standards. This includes handling technical equipment, wires, screws, microscopic lenses, machines, microchips and equipment, and other materials.
  • Testing: Conduct functional testing and quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues during the assembly and testing process.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and report any defects or discrepancies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing activities, including any deviations or issues encountered.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Efficiency: Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency in assembly procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality control, to achieve production goals.
What is Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as an Assembly Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of wiring and manual equipment components required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Experience with hand and power tools used in assembly.
  • Great attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate micro small parts and tools.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and chemicals.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is normally performed in an environmentally controlled office/laboratory environment. This role may be subject to other conditions or hazardous environments.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of performing required tasks while using wide variations of physical effort such as sitting, running, walking, standing, crawling, climbing, or remaining in awkward, sometimes strained, positions for extended periods of time; may be required to lift to 40 lbs.
