Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This position requires a strong knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and pet care.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures and surgeries
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Take and develop X-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during procedures
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
- Collect samples for diagnostic testing
- Administer treatments and medications prescribed by the veterinarian
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role preferred, not required
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary terminology
- Experience in dog handling, animal handling, and animal restraint techniques preferred
- Ability to perform laboratory tests and interpret results accurately
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, not required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
