JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL MANAGER
Hyatt HouseBaltimore/BWI Airport, located in Linthicum Heights, Md. is the newest hotel inthe BWI Airport Market boasting 129 spacious rooms, multiple meeting rooms, expandedlobby bar and outdoor patio. We areseeking a General Manager to oversee all team members and operations in thehotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financialprofitability. This position directly reports to the Vice President ofOperations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee the overall operations of the hotel.
  • Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures and brand standards.
  • Handling complaints, and oversee the service recovery procedures.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
  • Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
  • Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
  • Maximizing room yield and hotels/resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Act as a final decision maker in hiring key team members.
  • Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
  • Manage and develop the team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
  • Embraces TKo's Culture of CARE and creates this culture within the hotel.
  • Actively engaged in the sales process and takes part in new client acquisition along with the sales team.
  • Responsible for operating the hotel within the Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal and regulatory requirements.
Position Requirements:
•A university degree in hotel managementor a related field is preferred.
•Minimumof 3 years of Department Head/GM level experience in a Select Service or FullService Hotel.
•Hotelopening or re-positioning experience is preferred.
•Knowledgeof both F&B and Hotel Operations is preferred.
•Proficientwith Microsoft Office applications.
•Knowledgeof Hyatt PMS and POS systems is a plus.
•Mustbe willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be ateam player.
•Mustbe able to provide outstanding customer service to internal and externalguests.
•Musthave knowledge of computers and training techniques.
•Maintaina professional appearance and manner at all times.
•Abilityto exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions.
•Musthave strong interpersonal skills and cordial behavior.
•Requiresstanding for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds,bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
•Excellentcommunication, organization, written and guest relations skills.
•Strongorganizational, project management, mathematic and detail orientation skills,with the ability to multi-task in order to meet a variety of deadlines.
•Stronginterpersonal skills and a can-do positive attitude.
•Atrue desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
•Refinedverbal and written communication skills.
•Mustbe able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
