Titan America has an excellent opportunity for a Foreman at our sand plant located in Branchville, VA. This hourly position will report directly to the Site Superintendent.

This position performs a variety of duties including directing daily activities of the crew and supervising staff who prepares, inspects and works at a surface mine.

Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day operations of the mine site, including directing the activities of the staff.
• Ensures daily, weekly, monthly goals are met.
• Daily maintenance of equipment
• Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of the plant, pit, and associated equipment
• Be available for weekend and/or “after hours” work, as business needs dictate.
• Holds a Virginia Energy (formerly DMME) surface foreman certification.

Required Experience:

• Previous mining or construction experience is preferred
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, dozers, excavators, etc.)
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Virginia Energy (formerly DMME) surface foreman certification is a requirement for this position. Candidate must possess current certification or meet Virginia Energy (formerly DMME) eligibility requirements to obtain certification.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills
• Knowledge of surface mining and sand production, practices and applications preferred
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices

Working Environment:

Works both indoors and outdoors throughout the year – being exposed to extreme heat and cold. Adequate safety and personal protective equipment is issued to the employee including: hard hats, safety shoes, enhanced visibility clothing and safety goggles.

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
• Excavator: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
• Virginia surface foreman certification (Preferred)
