GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Staff Accountant - Operations (SAO) will be responsible for ensuring the proper and timely recording of transactions across all Operations applications and activities; and contributing to the successful day-to-day operations and long-term growth of the Operations by providing the required professional accounting and finance support to the Operations team (store support, POS, Capitalized assets, Inventory, etc.) including but not limited to financial oversight, monitoring budgets, expenses, and key performance indicators, providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis to help with decision making.

A CLOSER LOOK BEYOND THE NUMBERS:

• Verify, process and record financial data in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP), applicable regulatory and tax requirements
• Provide general financial oversight for operations, prepare financial reports, including projections and forecasting expenditures, s on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, updating them as necessary.
• Assist with preparing budgets and expenses; monitor performance compared to budget projections and report variance
• Collect, interpret, and provide information, analysis and reports to the Operations teams to help with decision-making process
• Assist with creating and defining Operations benchmarks, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Document and update accounting procedures and other relevant business processes.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in timely manner by directly interacting with the internal operations team members.
• Participate in cross functional problem-solving teams within operations.
• Identify areas for improvement, recommend and implement new processes as required,
• Ensure the integrity of supporting databases, internal control procedures, key proprietary technologies, and processes. Assist with the evaluation and testing of new databases and technologies
• Assist with all regulatory compliance, audits, and related accounting projects. .
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with year-end reporting, annual budget process and planning.
