Job Description:

Timeless Cleaners is seeking a skilled Tailor and Alterations Tailor to join our team. This individual will have a passion for fabrics and garment care, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure our clients’ clothing fits perfectly and looks its best.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform expert alterations on a variety of garments, including but not limited to suits, dresses, pants, jackets, formal dresses, military uniforms, and shirts.

- Provide fittings for customers, marking garments for alterations and ensuring a custom fit.

- Repair damaged clothing, including patching, darning, and stitching as required.

- Adjust garment styles, such as tapering pant legs, lining skirts, and adding or removing padding.

- Operate and maintain sewing machines and other tailoring equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.

- Communicate with customers to understand their alteration needs and offer professional advice on garment care.

- Complete alterations in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.

- Inspect garments for any additional repairs needed and suggest additional alterations to customers.

- Maintain an inventory of tailoring supplies and materials, ordering new stock as needed.

- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and conforms to health and safety standards.

- Must work effectively and efficiently, and manage/prioritize workload to meet production standards. Must communicate capacity schedule with team to meet customer expectations

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an alterations tailor or in a similar role.

- Proficient in various alteration techniques and familiarity with tailoring equipment and hand stitching.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.

- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Good communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand customer needs.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

- Knowledge of fabric types and garment construction.

- High school diploma or equivalent; training in tailoring, fashion design, or related field is a plus.
