Position Summary:

Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.

UTHealth opened an Urgent Care clinic in the Bayshore area in August 2022. This position will work at our newly renovated Bayshore Multispecialty Clinic @ 11476 Space Center Blvd. This is a Part-time non-exempt role. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Nurse Practitioner, with at least 2 years of experience, and 1 year of urgent care experience. This is a part-time position that will be evenings; Monday - Friday, 5 PM-9 PM, and on weekends, Saturday, 1 PM-9 PM, and Sunday, 8 AM-8 PM.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations.
2. Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care.
3. Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
4. Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.
5. Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.
6. Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.
7. Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
8. Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery.
9. Other duties as assigned.
