Time Instructor - Physical Therapy Assistant - Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Full-Time Instructor - Physical Therapy Assistant Near Atlanta, GA

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full Time Instructor (Physical Therapy Assistant) position in the Health & Public Safety Technology department in the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. 

 

 

Undergeneral supervision of the Dean of Health & Public Safety Technology, the Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant instructor providesinstructiontostudents. This role requires a dedicated individual abletoselectandassess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

·Preparesanddeliversqualitycurriculum withdailyinstructionofstudentsintheclassroom&clinical settings.

·Demonstrates theuseof appropriate teaching techniques.

·Demonstrates theuseof appropriate testing and gradingprocedures, including propermaintenance of gradebooks and anyotherappropriate record-keepingrequirements.

·Demonstrates theeffective useof oralandwritten communication skills, andknowledgeofcurrent procedures inthePTA field.

·Offers remediationandadditionalinstructionalsupporttoPTAstudents,asneeded.

·Followsapprovedcurriculum standards andcoursesyllabi.

·Monitors student useofsupplies, materials, and equipment.

·Advises and counselsstudents and maintains appropriate advisement records oneachstudent.

·Maintains classrooms and laboratories inaccordance withapproved classroom andlabmanagement plans.

·Actively engages corefaculty clinical education planning, implementation,and assessment.

·Develops, monitors, and refinestheclinicaleducation component ofthecurriculum.

·Facilitates qualitylearning experiencesfor studentsduringclinicaleducation.

·Evaluatesstudents'performance, incooperationwithotherfaculty,to determine theirability tointegrate didacticand clinical learning experiences andtoprogress withinthe curriculum.

·Educates students,clinical andacademic faculty about clinicaleducation.

·Selects clinical learning environments that demonstrate characteristicsof sound patient/clientmanagement,ethicaland professional behavior, andcurrency withphysical therapy practice.

·Maximizesavailableresourcesforthe clinical education program.

·Provides documented records andassessment oftheclinical education component (includes clinical education sites, clinical educators, etc.).

·Attendsmeetings asrequired.

·Observesandenforcestheinstitution's policiesandregulations.

·Assistswithstudentrecruitment andjob placement.

·Serveson committees.

·Maintains qualificationsforemployment as described bythe TechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgia(TCSG)andaccreditationstandards.

·Follows rulesandregulations asdescribed bytheTechnical College System ofGeorgia (TCSG) andother policies andprocedures established bytheinstitution.

·Assists inthedevelopmentofreports andotherrequirements for the program accreditation agencies.

  • FollowsandenforcesrulesandregulationsasdescribedbytheTechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgiaPolicyManual andotherpoliciesandproceduresestablishedbytheinstitution; and
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

·Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution OR bachelor’s degree in related health or education fields.

·Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist OR Five (5) years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant

·Mustbeabletoinstructstudentsandhandleadministrativeresponsibilities relatedtotheposition.

·Mustbeenergetic,highlymotivated,self-directed,opentonewideasandcustomerfocused.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be give to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

·Master’s degree in a health education related field.

·Five (5) or more years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in diverse specialties.

·Basic computer and software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Certifications / Licensure:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

·Physical Therapist OR Physical Therapist Assistant licensed in the state of Georgia.

·Current APTA specialist certification.
