ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of Workplace Safety & Compliance Senior
Manager in conducting safety inspection audits and safety training for the City of Memphis. Assists various
divisions with hazard recognition in the workplace. Communicates with and trains all levels within the
organization regarding safety inspections, injury prevention, and safety education and awareness. Responsible for
Safety Metrics assist with incoming workplace safety and office calls. Monitors and processes precursors and
near miss incidents. Conducts Environmental Health & Safety Audits for the City of Memphis. Assist the Lead
Safety Auditor with Divisions Safety Audits, Safety Training & Awareness, Corrective Action Safety Training,
Safety Metrics, Infection Control Calls and administrative calls. Must be able to articulate ways to build a safety
culture.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator.
Requires the ability to lift and carry objects such as boxes of paper weighing up to 15 lbs.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed at various assigned locations. Occasional travel
to meetings across the City required.
