Timberland is Hiring a Remote Distribution Center Director - Danville, KY

Director, Distribution – Danville, KY Position Summary: The Director, Distribution for Danville, KY operations will maintain oversight for the 396,000 square foot facility. The facility supports omnichannel fulfilment the Timberland, Altra and Smartwool brands. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for directing the overall performance of the distribution center including operations, customer service, administration, systems, and human resources. How You Will Make a Difference: Deliver exceptional results and customer service Lead the facility in the receiving, storing, and distributing finished goods Use computerized systems to monitor stock levels for the specific distribution center, then fulfill customer orders, ship and deliver merchandise to customer warehouse, wholesale or retail outlets and Ecommerce fulfilment. Active involvement with the department(s) throughout the day, monitoring progress towards goals and working with the Supervisor(s) to course-correct where needed Ensure departments are hitting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs. Be able to speak to performance and results with peers and above (should be comfortable interfacing with Senior Leadership Team) Evaluate department processes and work with your team to improve processes and results within department(s) Proactively work to understand latest market trends and product flow dynamics to anticipate impact on the DC operations and logistical lead times Act as a coach and mentor to any direct or indirect reports Manage facility budget and be accountable for departmental results which will impact the entire function Partner with your Senior Manager/SLT to identify talent gaps and make recommendations on improvement solutions Drive key DC initiatives Champion a continuous improvement culture that is ongoing and has buy-in for the team(s) Assist in Holiday readiness planning, including workload projections, staffing needs, alternate seasonal shifts, etc. Years of Related Professional Experience: 10 years Educational/ Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field Generally, ten years of progressive experience with five years of managerial experience Solid understanding of distribution processes and systems within a multi-channel (wholesale, retail and eCom) distribution environment Detail oriented and multi-task oriented with the ability to react to a change in priorities. Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision Excellent systems knowledge, including warehouse management systems Excellent organizational skills Working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet application and the ability to learn industry specific software Ability to work under time constraints Ability to drive/conduct strategic discussion/presentations Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively with other departments, to include operations and management Must be cooperative and flexible Occasional travel – less than 10% #LI-DC1 Hiring Range: $131,008.00 USD - $163,760.00 USD annually Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
