What you will do:

This is a new role and part of the L&D function at TCCA to create documentation and educational materials to boost user experience for our operations workforce. Reporting to the Technical Training Manager, this role requires bilingual work in Spanish and English, and will focus on partnering with Plant Operations, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, and Engineering departments to standardize, create, and maintain documents for training content needs. This role will be pivotal in meeting targeted goals within our training plan implementation, and is a temporary position ending November 2024.

Here’s a day in the life:

• Determine the clearest and most logical way to document information for the greatest reader comprehension
• Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
• Meet with subject matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
• Review and or copy edit content developed by other members of the team to ensure uniform “voice”
• Produce and maintain first in class documentation including user guides, work instructions/SOP’s, one pager trainings, training aids and other educational materials
• Research, outline, write and edit new and existing training content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
• Monitor metrics on the usage of training materials as well as feedback to prioritize future training
• Identify problem area or deficiencies and proactively contribute to their improvement
• Assess and evaluate the user and employee needs and level of knowledge relevant to technical documentation
• Adapt rapidly to changing requirements and be able to adjust responsibilities, time and objectives accordingly
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
• Demonstrated project management experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering etc. or technical writing certification
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Preferably 2-4 years of experience as a technical writer
• Microsoft Office applications proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communications and experience working with content in multiple mediums
• Experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skills
• Strong experience owning the end-to-end documentation creation process
• Experience in presenting technical information in a life setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to function as a self-motivated team player capable of working with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel between locations
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with visual design in Adobe Illustrator, Articulate, PowerPoint, or other software used for developing engaging training experiences
  • Understanding in the areas of Manufacturing Safety, Quality Processes, Manufacturing Processes, and Maintenance Awareness
  • Dairy manufacturing experience a plus
